The Connected Project is a collaboration between Toitoi - Hawke’s Bay Arts and Events Centre, Hastings District Libraries and The Write Coach.
We began the ‘Connected’ journey with two questions:
How can we connect older adults and youth in a productive way? And how can we facilitate meaningful interactions between them?
The Connected Project is the culmination of the process of finding answers to those two questions.
The project fosters community, initiate conversations, and encourage connection between older adults and youth.
There are many organisations which help older adults and many which support youth. The Connected Project directly connects the two.
We work with local schools to show rangatahi the stories and experiences of our community's older adults; then we connect the students' responses with the adults.
