We're a Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate venue

Keeping you, your friends and whānau safe while you are at Toitoi - Hawke's Bay Arts & Events Centre is always our top priority. Here is what you can expect when you come to Toitoi in the Covid-19 Protection Framework (traffic light system), from when you first arrive to when you say ‘Ka kite anō’ at the end of the night.

The Basics

The Basics

Toitoi is a Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate venue, which means My Vaccine Passes are an essential part of our operation. The safety and wellbeing of our customers, staff and communities is always our first priority. Vaccine passes mean we can continue to keep our audience as safe as possible, while continuing to do what we do best - delivering high-quality, large-scale events for you and others in our community.

Entering the venue

Entering the venue

Everyone over the age of 12 who comes into our venue will need to have their Ministry of Health-issued My Vaccine Pass scanned before entry. This includes all customers, audiences, contractors, suppliers, events people (organisers, performers, crew, contractors and volunteers) and anyone else who comes to Toitoi. There are no exceptions, so if you cannot provide a My Vaccine Pass, you will not be permitted entry to the venue.

Physical distancing and masks

Physical distancing and masks

In Orange and Green, My Vaccine Passes allow us to operate at full capacity, with no physical distancing. Our bars will also be open under these settings. In Red, we are limited to 100 people in the Opera House and 1m physical distancing will apply.
We still encourage you to wear masks while at Toitoi, to continue protecting those who are not eligible for vaccination. The Toitoi team will also continue to wear masks.

Our team

Our team

We want to reassure you that Hastings District Council requires all Toitoi staff to be fully vaccinated and we have developed robust operating procedures and policies for operating as a Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate venue. Council, and Toitoi, will continue to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, following Ministry of Health guidelines, in the months to come.
