A double-bill evening with Made for a Cause, featuring choreographer extraordinaire Deepthi Krishna and the TV3's Great NZ Dance Masala winner Abishek Ravi.
For over five years, the Hawke's Bay Indian Cultural Centre - inspired by the visionary Deepthi Krishna, choreographer extraordinaire - and Indian Classical Dance Exponent has delighted HB audiences with its beautiful, dazzlingly colourful dance/drama versions of Indian epics.
Made for a Cause is performed by Deepthi’s young Classical Dance-Studio students, and has been praised as “polished, athletic, disciplined performances… delightful”.
Joining Made for a Cause this year is Abishek Ravi, an Auckland-based professional Indian Classical Dancer; and winner of the Great NZ Dance Masala on television's channel Three.
Finishing off this evening of entertainment will be a performance of Sita Unsung, which tells the story of the ill-fated love and marriage of King Rama and the beautiful, courageous Sita.
Featuring the Bow Story, the Peacock Dance, the Lanka Abduction, the Diwali celebration and the Fire Test – this is a theatrical experience of the highest order!
Sita Unsung fuses dance, drama and music, and aerial performances (think Cirque de Soleil) provided by the astonishing Hawke’s Bay Flying Trapeze Company.
So grab your whānau and tickets for this incredible double-bill performance of dance and drama.
