Battle of the Brass 4

Cancelled: Battle of the Brass

H4A2295 LowRes

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing effects of Covid-19 lockdowns, this event has been cancelled.

Battle of the Brass 2021 is a combined Wellington and Central Districts Brass Band Contest which pits the best and brightest of Lower North Island groups against each other in a competition designed to test them in all aspects of bandsmanship!

The main public event will precede the Blossom Parade in Hastings CBD on Saturday morning, where bands will compete by marching down Heretaunga Street (with style and stamina) to perform an 'innovative feature' at the Albert Square intersection.

Further events will be held at Toitoi over the weekend with the hymn and test piece (skill competition) held immediately after the marching, and Sunday's line-up showcasing the best of entertainment (and spectacle) from all bands.

They battle for the titles, they battle for the trophies, but mainly they battle for a year's worth of bragging rights over their competitors!

Come along and bear witness as these players fill the Opera House with the rich sounds of brass and wrap you in a warm blanket of musical mastery.

Saturday, September 11, 12.30pm till 6pm and Sunday, September 12, from 9am till 4pm.

Koha entry.
